Keep the Commandments

We must put ourselves in a position to hear the Holy Ghost, or the Spirit. If we are not following the commandments of God, we will not be able to have this guidance. We cannot think that we can go against the teachings of God and still receive His guidance consistently in our lives. When we are not following God's commandments, we are moving away from Him, it is not He that moves away from us, but it is us moving-for God is unchangeable. When we do keep the commandments we move toward God, and are blessed. Thomas S. Monson, the current prophet of God on the earth today said: "A knowledge of truth and the answers to our greatest questions come to us as we are obedient to the commandments of God."

I know that as we keep the commandments of God, we will be able to be led by Him and His son, Jesus Christ. We will be able to feel of their love more readily in our lives, and we will find a lasting happiness. I invite you all to obey God, and keep His commandments. I can promise that it will bring a greater sense of lasting peace into your life. If we have not been keeping the commandments, hope is not lost. Our Savior, Jesus Christ has provided us a way to come back to our Heavenly Father and to still find the JOY that is promised to those who turn to Him.
